Nykyisin Salan talon nimellä tunnettu talo on rakennettu vuonna 1841. Pihapiiriin rakennettiin seuraavana vuonna ulkovarasto, joka on hiljattain purettu. Pyykkitupavalmistui noin vuonna 1900. Asuinrakennuksen laajennus valmistui 1909.

Ennen Salan perheen aikaa talolla oli useita omistajia kuten laivuri Carl Gustaf Haimelin yhdessä puolisonsa Stiina Sofian kanssa (1905 -13) ja varatuomari Werner Mérus puolisonsa Esterin kanssa (1913 -19). Suutari Eero Sala perheineen muutti taloon vuonna 1919. Hän oli saanut vuotta aiemmin oikeuden suutarin ammatin harjoittamiseen. Tässä talossa oli mahdollisuus sekätyöskennellä että varastoida tarvittavia materiaaleja ja työvälineitä.

Perheen tytär Impi syntyi vuonna 1907 ja hän asui talossa vuoteen 1980 saakka. Eero Sala kuoli vuonna 1951 ja hänen vaimonsa Fanny 1964. Salan perhe onkin asunut talossa pisimpään, yli 60 vuotta. Nykyiset omistajat ostivat talon kevättalvella 2015. Rakennuksen sisätiloja on aikojen kuluessa uudistettu ja alkuperäisestä sisustuksesta ei ole jäänyt jäljelle muuta kuin neljä vanhaa käyttökuntoista uunia. Puretusta pihavarastosta löytyi runsaasti suutari Salan puisia kenkälestejä, jotka on nyt huolellisesti koottu talteen. Pihavarasto oli pitkä, korkea ja kapearunkoinen hirsirakennus.Sen perustukset olivat valitettavasti pettäneet ja seinät alkaneet kaatua uhaten lysähtää osittain naapurin tontille.Suunnitelmissa on rakentaa samalle paikalle uusi piharakennus ja korjata vanhoja rakennuksia perinteisiä materiaaleja ja menetelmiä käyttäen.

The house currently known as the Sala house was built in 1841. An outdoor storage was built in the yard the next year, but the storage has been demolished recently. The laundry room was built in about 1900. The extension of the residential building was completed in 1909.

Before the Sala family, the house had several owners including shipmaster Carl Gustaf Haimelin and his wife Stiina Sofia (1905 - 1913) and lawyer Werner Mérus with his wife Ester (1913 - 1919).

Eero Sala and his family moved into the house in 1919. He had received a right to practice the profession of a shoemaker one year earlier. This house provided both a workplace and a storage for the necessary materials and tools.

Impi, the daughter of the family, was born in 1907, and she lived in the house until 1980. Eero Sala died in 1951 and his wife Fanny in 1964. The Sala family lived in the house for a longer time than any other residents, more than 60 years.

The current owners bought the house in early spring 2015. The interior of the building has been modernised over the years, and only four stoves that are still in usable condition have survived of the original interior.

Numerous wooden shoe lasts used by Mr Sala were found in the demolished outbuilding. These were recovered carefully.

The outdoor storage was a long, high and narrow log building. Unfortunately, its foundations had failed and the walls had started to tilt, and there was a risk that the building would partly collapse to the neighbour’s side. There are plans to build a new outbuilding on the same site and repair the old buildings using traditional materials and methods.
